BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:45 P.M.) - Five of the fourteen Iranian border guards that were kidnapped along the Iran-Pakistan border have been released today, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad 'Ali Jafari said on Thursday.
"Five of the abducted Mirjaveh Border guards were freed and efforts are underway to secure release of other hostages," the IRGC commander said during his press conference.
Jafari said that negotiations are still ongoing between Iran and the members of Jaysh Al-Adl that kidnapped the border guards.
"The release of all the Iranian border guards will take time but there is no room to worry about," he added.
