BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 A.M.) - The Kingdom of Jordan has officially reopened the Jaber Crossing with Syria after closing more than three years ago.
According to a government source in Damascus, the Jordanian authorities opened the gates to the Jaber Crossing at 8 A.M. (local time), as dozens of taxi cabs awaited their first entry into Syria's Dara'a Governorate.
The Jordanian authorities previously delayed the reopening of the Jaber Crossing due to technical problems related to customs and border security.
On the other side of the border, the Syrian authorities have completed all the prerequisites reopen the Nassib Crossing; it is now open to the public as well.
The Nassib Crossing was recaptured by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) during their summer offensive in the Dara'a Governorate.
