BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 P.M.) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov raised doubts regarding the latest U.N. report about the war crimes committed in the East Ghouta region of Damascus in April.
According to Lavrov, the U.N.'s independent commission used remote methods of work in its report that Russia is 'skeptical' about.
“We are skeptical about such remote methods,” he said.
Lavrov followed this up by pointing out that the commission did not travel to the East Ghouta, but rather, used testimony from social networks.
The U.N. accused both the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and rebel forces of committing war crimes in the East Ghouta region during the month long battle in April.
