DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:50 P.M.) - The Russian air power has notably decreased recently after President Vladimir Putin announced withdrawal of 13 fighters last week, with the Syrian military gaining ground across the war-torn country.
According to newly-released satellite images, the number of Russian fighter jets has declined in the coastal Hmeimim airbase where most of the Russian Air Force is stationed.
The images show the following warplanes: 9 Su-24, 6 Su-25, 6 Su-30, 5 Su-34, 4 Su, 35, 1 Ilyushin Il-76 strategic airlifter, 1 Antonov An-26 and 1 An-30 transport aircrafts.
The Russian warplanes are heavily propelling the Syrian Army into achieving major ground advances countrywide.
Earlier this week, rebel groups in northern Latakia countryside launched a weaponized drone attack on the Hmeimim airbase. however, the assault was completely foiled with all hostile targeted shot down by the Russian anti-aircraft missiles.
