BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 A.M.) - The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful attack against a group of foreign jihadists in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate on Thursday.
Led by their Republican Guard forces, the Syrian Arab Army launched several artillery shells and surface-to-surface missiles towards the jihadist positions inside the town of Al-Ankaweh in the Al-Ghaab Plain region.
According to a military communique, the Syrian Arab Army was targeting the jihadist rebels of the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP); they are primarily comprised of foreign militants.
The Syrian Arab Army also targeted the jihadist rebels of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham inside the Al-Ghaab Plain towns of Tal Wasit and Al-Ziyara.
The jihadist rebels responded by firing several artillery shells towards the Syrian Army's positions in the southwestern part of the Al-Ghaab Plain.
