BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 P.M.) - The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued to battle militants in the Tulul al-Safa region in southern Syria on Tuesday.
The encircled area is reported to contain pockets of militants belonging to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL).
Troops were seen transporting infantry fighting vehicles, artillery and heavy equipment across the desert.
At least one missile launcher was deployed in the coordinated assault, while several plumes of smoke could be seen rising in the distance.
