BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) - Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem sat down with Lebanon's Al-Mayadeen TV this afternoon in order to discuss a number of topics, including the situation in the Idlib Governorate.
Muallem told the presenter at Al-Mayadeen TV that Turkey is more than capable of carrying out the military operation clear the radical groups from Idlib.
The Syrian Foreign Minister then told the presenter that Damascus would more than welcome the operation, despite the absence of diplomatic relations with Ankara.
“According to our information, we believe that Turkey is capable of carrying out its obligations,” Muallem said.
Muallem has returned to Damascus after a short visit to the United States, where he spoke in front of the United Nations on behalf of Syria.
