Worked for Verizon for two years after they acquired GTE Wireless in 2000. It was the worst job I ever had. The company basically told us that GTE Wireless trained us into believing the customer is always right and they set out to teach us that the customer is stupid and needed to trained. When they started out the cheated customers out of billions of dollars through their overbilling tactics and then spent it on that stupid "Can You Hear Me Now?" comercial that played every five seconds. They told us that for every customer they lost they could get five others through advertising. They refused to correct customer's bills and many paid them just to keep from damaging their credit. I worked 3 years for GTE Wireless and 2 years for Verizon. Verizon is just a money-hungry giant that does not believe in customer service nor in treating their workers with dignity.
