Quite the frustrating evening betting wise yesterday in the Europa League with yet another last-minute goal that cost me. Antwerp played a really solid match and took the deserved win against Plzen.

Anderlecht vs Kv Mechelen

Anderlecht look like they will have a difficult season this year. Kompany tries to bring a forward playing style they simply don't have the players for right now. They have shown a clear trend in their first 2 matches to take a hot start with high intensity to drop back halfway the first half and not bring anything in the 2nd half. I expect something similar today against KV Mechelen. The visitors showed to be too weak in the Supercup but managed to take a hot start this season taking 6 on 6 away against Zulte-Waregem exploiting the counters and playing excellent at home winning 3-1 against a rather poor Racing Genk. They have a lot of automatisms in the team but need enforcements if they want to play a good season. Newly promoted teams usually get crushed away against Top teams but Mechelen is better compared to the average promoted team and Anderlecht far worse currently. There has been money on the visitors all week long dropping the opening line from +1 to +0.5. I'm not willing to chase this or the gamble on Anderlecht. I do expect Anderlecht to continue their offensive style and have a hard time not seeing KV Mechelen exploit the space they will get. Anderlecht still is playing without a real striker and it looks like Zjull who is playing poorly still will be in the team. KV Mechelen will be without Engvall who was the best player on the pitch last week. If I was to bet anything right now it would be Mechelen +0.5 @ 1.943. Chasing the steam is not smart though, but if the same pattern repeats and Anderlecht has a fallback after 15-20 minutes while odds went up on Mechelen I might take some on them live. I do expect Mechelen to score and will keep an eye out on their Team total over. No Pre-Game Bets
