Jupiler League Week 13 Saturday Previews

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

I took 2 weeks off from betting during the international break which was needed after a very busy period and I am ready to go back at it the coming month with a lot of upcoming matches. Things pretty much remain the same with no fans in the stadium, possible new covid cases, weather getting colder, pitches worse. All these things along with the fact that the league has been on a break make me extremely cautious as there are just too many factors I have no clue how to correctly estimate. 4 matches to take a look at today...

Standard vs Eupen

Standard suffered from the busy period before the break and were lucky to get away with a draw away against Antwerp where they mainly defended playing long balls. Key players Vanheusden, Amallah, Raskin and Carcela are out for today so they certainly won't be at their strongest. Eupen has been quite disappointing so far as they showed a lot of promise with the transfers they made. They were quite unlucky to only get a draw (despite many players out) in their last match but failed to really create a lot of chances mostly just creating corners. The -0.25 @ 1.80 odds on Standard at home sure look tempting. The combination of Eupen being 5W-1L away from home against the Asian handicap with Standard having some important missings makes for this line. I will keep this match exclusively for live betting. No Pre-Game Bets

Oostende vs Antwerp

Oostende has been one of the better playing teams in the league so far but saw a big 8-game undefeated streak been broken with 2 losses (against Club Brugge & Standard). They are now facing Antwerp who have shown to be a solid team. Bataille will be suspended for Oostende while Antwerp is able to field their A-Squad. Both are not teams I'm looking to oppose and I see the +0.25/-0.25 line as quite fair for this matchup. Oostende is an over home team while Antwerp is an over away team against the Asian total line. It remains a big question if the league will continue to have many high scoring matches. Both have a balanced 1H-2H ratio in goals so if it is an open match I might get in on the 1H over. Oostende is also the most overish Corners team with an average of 12+ each match. I'm not the only one who is watching this and the odds dropped enough compared to the opening line for me to skip and wait it out live. Oostende is an excellent home team in the 1st half and I do expect them to hold up pretty well there as Antwerp only won 1 away 1st half. No Pre-Game Bets

Waasland vs Cercle Brugge

Waasland has been the worst team in the league so far and took a flattering point away against Eupen. Especially at home they are now 4.5L-0W against the Asian handicap and also are at the bottom of the home 1 standings. At times they showed some good things but these mostly came when they were already behind. Cercle Brugge is a better team but they are also coming off 2 losses (vs Waregem & Charleroi). Waasland worked hard in their last match and I do expect them to do the same today in a match where Cercle who always want to play forward will do so. The league has seen many goals and the total lines on average are set higher now. The same high totals also counts for the corners (12-4 on over last 2 weeks) while those lines still remain the same. Waasland is 5-0 on Over 9.5 ck at home while Cercle is 5-1 on over 9.5 away so I had to take my chance with a small bet on Over 9.5 Corners @ 1.854.

Club Brugge vs Kortrijk

Club Brugge did not play their best match in week 12 but still managed to get away with the win. This has been somewhat of a trend for them and my default bet at the moment is to bet them in case they fall behind since they are usually able to increase the pressing if they have to. Kortrijk played a 5-5 match against Beerschot on which not so many sensible things can be said. They remain an Over home team with poor results and Under away team with solid results. I expect them to focus all on defense at the start of this match with Club Brugge taking a patient approach going forward. My lean is on the under and I took a tiny initial position on Under 3.25 @ 1.94, If Club Brugge manages to get a lead by 2 goals or more before halftime I will likely take more on the under as they will conserve energy with an eye on the important Champions League match next Tuesday. If they fall behind I will back them blindly, and it if stays 0-0 for a while I will also be looking to get a bet in for them to win.
