Hi everyone!
If you check my daily Prague/Czech Republic Photo Challenge regularly, you have probably noticed that my homeland is full of unusual sculptures and statues, ranging from interesting and funny to weird and downright creepy.

Some of the most famous but also controversial modern statues were created by the prominent Czech artist David Cerny who is also the author of the series of statues known simply as "The Babies". Most of these "babies" were installed on the Zizkov Lookout Tower and some more can be found "crawling" on the ground around Kampa in the historic center of Prague.

The statues are black, huge (3.5 m or 11.5 ft long and 2.6 m or 8.5 ft tall) and their faces were replaced with barcodes, which only adds to their disturbing appearance.

Some of the statues are now on their way to the city of Palm Springs in California where they will stay for 20 months as a temporary exhibit. If there are any fans of bizarre statues among my American followers, make sure to check out these babies as they certainly are one of the creepiest artworks ever created in my homeland.
Please feel free to check out some of my other recent posts.
