When Hillary Clinton recently fingered Macedonian “content farmers” as the root cause of her failure to win the 2016 presidential election, we noted the particular irony, having been present and deeply involved during the Macedonian parliamentary election and associated crises of last year.
During her election campaign, Media Matters for America served as the mouthpiece for her message of “fake news” victimization, seizing upon the opportunity to “assist” Facebook and others in quashing sources it deemed to be fake. Ironically, a Media Matters for America operative was simultaneously capitalizing on the fruits of an orchestrated campaign to censor the center-right media of that nation, in the midst of those very same Macedonian content farms Clinton claims to have sabotaged her campaign.
Former Media Matters President Eric Burns advised the Social Democratic Party of Macedonia (originally the nation’s Communist Party), as their leader Zoran Zaev sought to topple the reformist conservative government led by the VMRO-DPMNE party. (Full Story)
Does any of this sound familiar, folks? If not, ponder this:
Thus, through the guise of “democratic assistance”, the Obama administration partnered with Soros-funded organizations to establish a media environment that would systematically identify certain news outlets and personalities as biased, and then allow for censorship, through fines and broadcast license revocation, if the targeted individual or entity did not conform its speech to standards determined by a body established to make this judgement.
I don't know about you, but that sounds to me like Obama and Soros teamed up to spend your money to meddle in Macedonian politics with a view to bringing down a legally constituted conservative government.
Gee, I wonder if President Ivanov is related to Donald Trump...or (gasp!) is Russian!
