What is most disturbing about this scandal is that Joseph committed this sex crime against a little girl only one year after his brother, Joshua Duggar, was indicted for child pornography. You would think that Joseph would have learned something from his brother's mistakes, but I guess the apple seldom ever falls far from the tree.
This sex scandal could mark the financial collapse of the entire Duggar family, because Jim Bob Duggar and his wife, Michelle, likely don't have the same amount of monetary assets to pay for an adequate legal defense for Joseph in court as they did back when their other son, Joshua, was on trial. Then again, they may use their political ties to get Joseph off the hook; and if they do, their unpopularity will continue to intensify in the public arena.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Jim Bob and Michelle have both known about Joseph's sexual molestation of a child for the past six years. It's their modus operandi to cover up family crimes as we all witnessed in the sex scandal involving their son, Joshua.
2. Joseph Duggar's Multiple Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free Cards
Videos about Joseph Duggar's arrest are popping up everywhere on YouTube. What makes this sex scandal even more earthshattering than anything that has ever hit the news about a religious family is the possibility that Joseph's victim may very well be his own sister-in-law. If that is the case, then this matter is going to get extremely messy insofar as fireworks will be going off everywhere, putting it figuratively. Joseph Duggar May Be In The Doghouse For Harming An In-Law
What influencers are failing to talk about is the possibility that Joseph's father, Jim Bob Duggar, will be using his political ties to get him out of trouble with the law altogether. The very first thing that Jim Bob is likely going to do is get on the horn with Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and ask her to get some kind of protective order that will prevent the Florida authorities from extraditing Joseph. I've heard of stranger things happening in our criminal justice system.
The Duggars have been friends with the Huckabees forever. Governor Huckabee Sanders will probably have a long conversation with her father, Mike Huckabee, after she gets off the phone with Jim Bob, and she'll talk with him about passing the buck by phoning Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and begging him to grant Joseph a full gubernatorial pardon.
I don't know how well Governor Huckabee Sanders and Governor DeSantis know each other, but I'm sure their paths have crossed at one time or another at a GOP social gathering that was by invitation only. They're both Republicans, and state governors do talk with one another on the telephone now and then.
Once Governor DeSantis receives that phone call from Governor Huckabee Sanders, he'll probably be rubbing his forehead and reminding Governor Huckabee Sanders that making a child molestation charge go away is not as easy as fixing a parking ticket, especially in Florida. Governor Huckabee Sanders will likely stress to him that he is the governor of Florida, and he, therefore, has the ability to make the child sex charges against Joseph go south.
After Governor DeSantis gets off the phone with Governor Huckabee Sanders, he'll probably call Lauren Book inasmuch as they're political allies with each other and have joined forces to fight child rape in the state of Florida despite that they're from different political parties. Ms. Book will likely be pleading with Governor DeSantis not to grant Joseph a full gubernatorial pardon as she should do so.
Both Governor DeSantis and Governor Huckabee Sanders will feel the reluctance to do anything to help Joseph out of his situation with the authorities, because they won't want it to come back and haunt them if either one of them should ever run for any kind of political office again. If Mike Huckabee has a telephone conversation with Bill Maher about it, Mr. Maher will be trying to talk him out of doing anything to get Joseph off the hook. Mr. Huckabee and Mr. Maher are both friends.
Governor DeSantis will ultimately be left with the biggest dilemma he has ever faced in his entire political career. I would only hope that he doesn't grant Joseph a gubernatorial pardon. However, if he does get Joseph off the hook for his sex crimes against a child, the manure will definitely be hitting the fan from that point on.
Assuming that Joseph's child victim was Paul Caldwell's daughter, Mr. Caldwell will likely end up behind bars for taking his rifle and laying Joseph into the ground. It will become a circus show for the entire world to see, and it won't be very pretty, to say the least.
Whatever happens from this point on, I don't doubt that the Duggar family will be going bankrupt in the end. Once none of them have two dimes to rub together, they'll be getting a knock at their front door from the We TV cable network, offering them thrice the amount of money that the TLC cable network paid them. However, this time a cable network will only want to put all their dirty laundry on exhibition for the whole world to see. It'll become like a never-ending episode of Law & Order: SVU on steroids from that point on.
3. Final Thoughts
I was listening to different YouTube videos about Joseph Duggar's arrest, and what I found interesting was a tidbit of information in which a female influencer claimed that the founder of the Institute in Basic Life Principles ("I.B.L.F."), Bill Gothard, had never been married or fathered kids. I can only laugh about the irony of it all. In case you don't know what the I.B.L.F. is, it's where Jim Bob Duggar and his family got schooling and training about how they were to live their lives as Christians.
Here this man, Bill Gothard, is in his nineties, and he has never walked down the aisle up to an altar or spent time in a maternity ward or in an actual hospital delivery room, waiting for a wife to give birth to a baby of his. Mr. Gothard has spent a lifetime preaching about Christians needing to get married between the ages of 18 and 22 and reproducing as many kids as possible, but he has never gone down that same road himself.
Mr. Gothard has probably gotten into trouble for sexual harassment as many times as he has, because the likely absence of love and romance in his life has driven him over the edge and has caused him to prey on women. I do not condone his actions, but his lonely way of life could explain everything in that event.
Many young bridegrooms who start a family at a young age during their adulthood absolutely love to shame men who remain single and childless on into their thirties and beyond. They'll attend every high-school reunion to rub every adult male spinster's face in their loneliness and lack of romance. At the same time, it is so hilarious that these same jerks who engage in this kind of deplorable behavior are vulnerable to shysters like Mr. Gothard. It's almost like karma in a poetic sense.
It reminds me of once seeing a news story about adult male spinsters in their fifties and sixties scamming the public by publishing books about parents talking to their teenage kids about sex and selling them to the very people who belittled them. Hmmm. I guess the American caste system concerning marriage and family needs to go away so that those who are left behind don't retaliate.
For a nation like the United States that has an epidemic of male loneliness, way too many Americans, especially right-wing nuts, place too much emphasis on romance and pair-bonding. A YouTuber who goes by the user name of "Life Outrage" provides an interesting perspective on this same topic.

I simply cannot figure out why a proverbial prom king like Jim Bob Duggar who has been financially successful all these years would fall for all the stupidity that Mr. Gothard has enticed him and his family into immersing themselves in. It makes me think of a college graduate in the humanities being unable to learn how to turn on a computer. The high-school hunks from our teenage years almost always turn out to be the ones who are dead between the ears once they enter the adult world.
I guess when you get right down to it, life is stranger than fiction. The Duggar family has certainly made a name for themselves, and I don't mean so in a positive way. It all proves the points that I made in my article titled "Stop Idolizing Teenage Bridegrooms And Young Fathers! Society Is Stupid." Both manipulation and deception have a way of backfiring on the most flamboyantly arrogant and judgmental people.
The fact of the matter is that self-righteous do-gooders are the biggest scumbags of the world, especially religious ones. We only have to look at the number of sex scandals that self-proclaimed men of God have been involved in to know that for a fact.
