How interesting the first community organizer president, from Chicago is finding trouble with local community organizers willing to give him bad press. Perhaps his influence is waning, or what? There do not appear to be sufficient publicly available information of the Chicago Power dynamics, at least since, major journalers like Saul Alinsky left us.
A dozen community organizers including Jeanette Taylor camped, the education director of the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization, camped out overnight—like it was a Chik Fil A or something where you get 52 free combos if your one of the first 100 in—but this was just so she could talk at the Obama Foundation event which plans to gentrify the area.
Obama videoconferenced into the event. Taylor asked the former head of the Merican global hegemonic coercive apparatus about why they refused to sign a Community Benefits Agreement. Obama is reported to have ignored the organization and specifically did not have his agents/whoever is paying for the center do so to inhibit collective bargaining with community organizations.
Taylor was displeased with the responses and fears her family may be forced to move due to Obama’s brand joining the neighborhood. Over 100 faculty from University of Chicagor and dozens of local groups have requested Obama negotiate with the group but to no avail. Obama’s chides against private property clearly were just to activate a political base since it sounds like he takes a libertarian approach that whoever owns land should do whatever they want with it.
