Chinese manufacturers are scrambling to add robots where they can to replace workers as Chinese wages continue to rise. Many Chinese companies have very slim margins as they are and rising wages is making it difficult.
Monthly manufacturing wages were over 4100 yuan in 2015. This is cheaper than Mexico, but more expensive than wages in Thailand, Vietnam and India.
So what we may see is either they are able to continue and improve margins with robot replacements where they can or if the past means anything, we can expect some manufacturing to be leaving to lesser expensive countries.
