Cisco has announced that 500,000 routers have been infected with malware called VPNFilter. The vendors of the devices are Linksys, MikroTik, NETGEAR and TP-Link networking equipment in the small and home office (SOHO) space, as well at QNAP network-attached storage (NAS) devices.
Cisco was the owner of Linksys until it sold that division to Belkin.

Cisco is claiming that this malware is related to malware that attacked Ukrainian hosts.
