UPDATE:At 11:39am Arizona time the base officials have released all personnel from lockdown.
Davis-Monthan's facebook page has stated:
"ALL CLEAR, the lock down has been lifted. Base personnel are free to resume all normal operations. We will continue with updates as they become available."
UPDATE @ 1:21pm Arizona time: DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. – Today at approximately 9:50 a.m., a member in the vicinity of the flight line reported what they believed to be sounds of gunshots. Out of an abundance of caution, lockdown procedures for the base were initiated.
Priority was given to clearing the Child Development Centers and on-base schools in addition to the location of the report to ensure the safety of children first. Security Forces members swept these locations and determined them secure before continuing to clear the rest of the installation.
Security Forces sweeps were completed at approximately 11:38 a.m., at which time the base was declared all clear. The lockdown was lifted and all operations resumed as normal.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the reported gunshot sounds. More information will be released as it becomes available."
The emergency warning system for military personnel at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base has been activated stating that there is an active shooter on the aircraft flightline parking ramp. Sounds of gunshots have been reported but are unconfirmed.
The base is on lockdown, all personnel are being advised to follow the active shooter response checklist and stay inside with the windows and doors locked and barricaded.
Davis-Monthan's facebook page has stated "The base is currently on lock down. There are unconfirmed reports of gun shot sounds. Seek shelter immediately. More updates will come once they are available."

It is NOT a military exercise. No further details.
Davis-Monthan AFB is home to the 355th Fighter Wing of A-10's, as well as the 563rd Rescue group consisting of HC-130J's and HH-60G Pavehawk helicopters, and the 55th Electronic Combat Group of EC-130H's.
It is also home to the 'boneyard', the storage and reclamation of excess military and U.S. government aircraft and aerospace vehicles.
