A 44 year old man with two knives tried to attack highschool students.
I was just browsing my Facebook feed when I saw a news report about a school attack in the Netherlands!
That's not something that you hear about everyday so I was curious and opened the link.
He was intercepted by the students themselves who used their school back packs to fend off the attack.
The man eventually gave up and walked on waving the knives in his hands and later he was picked up by the police.
The man was mentally ill and obviously had gotten hold of two knives but nobody was injured and the man was detained.
The man as well as the children involved are getting the help that they need.
I have to wonder how differently this would have turned out if this man had access to a gun.
A kids backpack would not have saved the day and many would have been injured and killed.
I can't help but think that this is another example of why gun control is so necessary!
Unfortunately even with the recent school shooting on February the 14th this year in Parkland, Florida there has been no satisfactory changes to future proposed changes in gum laws.
This was the 8th school shooting this year that ended in death and injury and we were only 7 weeks into 2018.
Donald Trump has proposed that one of the changes that could be made in the future is to have teachers that are specially trained to he able to carry a fire-resistant at school.
Personally I think this could cause even more problems and that a school shooting could turn into a complete massacre when panic and confusion are a reality in a situation like this.
I hope that more deaths don't have to be a reality before proper gun laws are pit into place!
