Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Bangladesh's continued progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said this when he met a 19-member delegation led by Bangladesh Road Transport and Bridge Minister and Bangladesh Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday afternoon to meet Narendra Modi.
Narendra Modi, with 5 senior members of the Awami League under the leadership of Road Transport and Welfare Minister Obaidul Quader, spent about 40 minutes. Members of the delegation expressed their gratitude to the Government of India and the people for the great liberation war and cooperation all the time.
The other four members of the delegation are: Presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League Pisush Kanti Bhattacharya, Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, Abdur Rahman and Jahangir Kabir Nanak.
Narendra Modi praised Bangladesh for facing the recent Rohingya problem and he told the delegation that India will take initiative soon to solve the problem of Rohingya problem.
He said, like all of the past, India will be beside Bangladesh during all the difficult times of Bangladesh. If the representatives of the Bangladeshis mention the issue of Teesta, then Teesta issues like all other problems will be resolved soon.
Narendra Modi exchanged pleasantries with all other members of the delegation after a close discussion with 5-member high level delegates. Bangladesh High Commissioner to Dhaka Syed Moazzem Ali was also present.
Earlier in the morning the delegation led by the Secretary-General visited India's Lok Sabha.
