Monsanto is completely disregarding the everyday farmer and is an absolute bully in agriculture. Farmers fear that they will have no choice but to produce Monsanto soy and will lose the privilege of choosing what they want to produce in the future. Whether you are for or against GMO's, it does not make sense for one company to produce two of the largest crops, (corn and soy), of the exact same genetic modification, all across the world. If there was ever a recall on Monsanto crops, nearly half the world would already be consuming it. Even if you don't eat either, all of our live stock already do.
"Ready 2 Xtend" is intended for Monsanto's new seeds which are supposedly resilient to the herbicide "dicamba." Farmers throughout Arkansas, Tennessee, and southern Missouri are witnessing first hand the negative effects of pesticide drift, severely damaging non-Monsanto crops. The new toxic weed killer alone has damaged more than 200,000 acres. It's important to note that US federal regulators have yet to approve the use of dicamba.
Side note: many of the preservatives/pesticides used, such as "RoundUp", are sprayed on most GMO crops. They contain some of the worst cancer causing agents including glyphosate, which is scientifically proven and can even cause birth defects. Monsanto is the main producer of Roundup and has been criticized in the past for manipulating agriculture in their favor, in order to sell more Roundup.
