Hello fellow steemians let's pray for the people of Mexico especially for the most affected areas in Puebla, Morelos and Mexico states, and Mexico City, the capital as most of the deaths were reported in these areas. As of today the death tally is atleast 116 people. According to CNN affiliate FORO TV there were 27 buildings collapsed in the capital, which is 75 miles from the epicenter, as also stated by President Enrique Peña Nieto.

As of most of us felt weird of sometimes coincidence happens when it was least unexpected it happens on the day that they do an earthquake drill as a commemorative event on the 1985 devastating earthquake in Mexico City that killed thousands.

According to the United States Geological Survey that preliminary reports put the epicenter 4.5 kilometers east-northeast of San Juan Raboso and 55 km south-southwest of the city of Puebla, in Puebla state.

The earthquake struck at a depth of about 51 km.

CNN meteorologist Allison Chinchar said that "Anything below 70 kilometers is considered a shallow quake". Also according to her it is important to know that because more shallow earthquake cause more damage than deeper ones.
