Meulaboh - The West Aceh government carried out caning of 21 Shari'a violators in the district.
The whip execution took place in the yard of the Great Mosque of Baitul Makmur, Meulaboh, Thursday (09/20/2018) and witnessed by the public.
During the process, there were convicts who could not withstand the pain of the executioner lash. The man was Mustafa, a convicted adulterer who was sentenced to 100 lashes. He complained when the whip came to the seventh count.
He also asked for time to break up, but when the executioner wanted to continue, Mustafa begged his sentence to be postponed.
The flogging was also postponed against Ismail, convicted of sexual abuse with a sentence of 26 lashes, because health conditions were not possible.
While the other convicts managed to carry out their respective sentences. They were sentenced to varying sentences. Starting the lowest five times, up to the most 100 lashes. The convicts generally proved to be maisir, adultery, sexual harassment and khamar.
Of the 21 Shari'a violators convicted of the caning, there was also a non-Muslim woman with a whip of 68 times. A woman named Rosita was entangled in a khamar case who acted as a liquor seller.
Kajari said that the application of the caning law against non-Muslims was carried out with the consent of the convicted person.
Because the convicts are involved and are subject to the rules of the Shari'a that are implemented in Aceh, he said.
