The Boring Company Ilon Mask showed a forecast map of tunnels near Los Angeles
Company Boring Company published on its website a map with the first proposed routes of the network of high-speed tunnels near Los Angeles. The longest route has a length of about 40 miles (about 64.4 km). It connects the Sherman Oaks area, located north of downtown Los Angeles, with Long Beach airport, which is located in the southeast part of Los Angeles County.
This route corresponds in part to the configuration of the Interstate 405 highway. It contains several branches leading to Santa Monica, Venice, South Bay, Hawthorne (where SpaceX headquarters and The Boring Company are located), Los Angeles International Airport. The second route runs east to west from Los Angeles International Airport through the city center to the Dodger Stadium.
It is noted that the proposed routes are only a concept, not a completed project. The site, highlighted in red, shows a 6.5-mile stretch (about 10.5 km), at which the company intends to prove the concept's consistency. Here, the testing of equipment and systems required for the operation of the underground transport system will be carried out. This site, called Phase 1, will not be used by consumers until all necessary permits from the authorities have been received.
