Lo and behold, harken to the wise words of the Eternal Greatest: I don't care about other countries!
"America First" is Trump's battle cry, and he certainly does not look at the interest of other countries.
But what he does not realize is that "globalization" happens even if he ignores it.
So The Greatest President of all Times was mightily surprised when a symbol of America - Harley Davidson - reacted as the company had hinted before: It announced that the production of motorbikes for Europe (their second biggest market) would be moved out of the US.
The reason? Tariffs!
Harley Davidson warned before that raising tariffs would hurt. But Trump enacted them anyway, and the EU retaliated exactly as they had announced before.
Harley was hit coming and going, higher import costs for materials and higher selling costs when exporting.
That is known as a trade war (okay, in scale it is more a trade battle). Maybe Trump may learn that word today. But I don't think so, judging by his usual finger pointing.
But maybe he learns, who knows? Until then, let's congratulate President Trump on his work, Yes, Mr. President, this is completely the result of your actions!
