Official Title
A resolution condemning hate crime and any other form of racism, religious or ethnic bias, discrimination, incitement to violence, or animus targeting a minority in the United States.
Summary
(This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here.) Condemns hate crime and any other form of racism, religious or ethnic bias, discrimination, incitement to violence, or animus targeting a minority in the United States. Affirms that the United States stands united in condemning hate and evil in all forms. Rejects hate-motivated crime as an attack on the fabric of society and the ideals of pluralism and respect. Calls on federal law enforcement officials, working with state and local officials, to: (1) expeditiously investigate all credible reports of hate crimes and incidents and threats against minorities in the United States, and (2) bring the perpetrators to justice.. Encourages: (1) the Department of Justice (DOJ) and other federal agencies to work to improve the reporting of hate crimes, and to emphasize the importance of the agencies' collection and reporting of data pursuant to federal law; and (2) the development of an interagency task force led by the Attorney General to collaborate on the development of effective strategies and efforts to detect and deter hate crime in order to protect minority communities. Calls on the executive branch to continue to: (1) offer federal assistance that may be available for victims of hate crimes; and (2) carry out safety and preparedness programs for religious institutions, places of worship, and other institutions that have been targeted because of their affiliation with any particular religious, racial, or ethnic minority in the United States.
Opinion
I am TOTALLY FED UP with the DemoCommies dividing us all into different groups. Their whole modus operandi is to divide us and get us to hate each other! They want to give each special interest group special rights and protections, and that is unconstitutional! In America "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL"! We are all Americans! We all are guaranteed the same rights under the Constitution!
No matter what your skin color is, SOMEONE out there hates you. That includes white people, too! We really need to avoid the "them vs. us" mentality as it pertains to our fellow Americans! We all have COMMON ENEMIES, including Islamic supremacists, North Korea, and others. We need to be united now, perhaps more than ever before, because Muslim jihadists don't care if you are white or a minority. And if North Korea or some other adversary launches an EMP attack against us, we will ALL suffer the consequences! Nine out of 10 of us could die as a result!
We MUST start practicing brotherly love and watching each other's back, because the world has become a very dangerous place for all of us! We must help each other to survive whatever evil may befall us.
PLEASE don't let the communists/socialists destroy our wonderful Republic! ANY group of people are going to have their differences! Heck, even happily married couples have their differences! We as Americans must learn to respect each other's differences and put them aside in order to work TOGETHER to fight our enemies, foreign and domestic, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
As for hate crimes, there is an element of hate in EVERY crime! Whether it's a crime against a person or their property, it doesn't matter. The point is crime is crime, and an injustice against one person or one group is an injustice against us all! YES, because we are all Americans! It doesn't matter what the color of your skin is or what your native language is. We must all consider ourselves as ONE UNDIVIDED PEOPLE, all citizens of the UNITED (not divided) States of America! And as such, we should not identify ourselves as whites or blacks or Latinos or native Americans or as any other ethnic group! It's time we all think of ourselves as ONE UNITED PEOPLE who REFUSE to be divided into unequal classes or be made to feel that we are victims because of our ethnicity or gender or the size of our bank account (or lack thereof). Always remember that UNITED WE STAND; DIVIDED WE FALL!
The jihadists want to kill us and the communists/socialists want to enslave us. Are we going to allow either of them to destroy our Republic?! I don't care what the color of your skin is! Unite with me against our common enemies! We fellow Americans are stronger together than we are if we let our enemies divide and conquer us!
