The film "The Watchtower" broke the record in the Ukrainian film destribution
During the first week of the rental of the Ukrainian film "The Watchtower" broke the record for the number of spectators and the amount of box office in Ukraine. The tape, which was released on October 12, has already been watched by more than 110 thousand spectators. And in cinemas it was possible to collect almost 8,2 million UAH. This was reported by the authors of the film on the official Facebook page.
Let's note, the budget of the film is about 40 million UAH, 18 of which were provided by the state. The authors of the film promised to continue the adventures of Vitka and the three heroes if the film pays for itself at the box office. In addition to Ukraine, the tape will be shown in at least 11 other countries. In February 2015, France bought the right to rent the film at the European film market of the Berlin International Film Festival. In March 2016 the film "The Watchtower" was sold to distributors in the territory of India, Vietnam.
The previous record holder was the film "Dzidzio Contrabass", which for the first week was watched by 102 thousand spectators, which brought to its authors 7.7 million UAH. In general, this tape was the first Ukrainian film, which pays for itself at the box office.
After the film distribution of the "Watchtower" in 2017, the premiere of the tape on television on the air of the "New Channel" is also planned. This will be an expanded 4-serial mini-serial version of the film.
