53-year-old Thomas Mair has been found guilty of the murder of British MP Jo Cox, who was shot in the face and repeatedly stabbed as her attacker shouted: "Britain First" as she left her local constituency meeting on the 16th of June a week before the EU referendum.
Mair who had a collection of Nazi publications in his home will serve a life sentence and can only be released by the Home secretary.
West Yorkshire police released the following statement shortly after the verdict was given.
