After the past 24-hour failed attempt to overthrow Turkish President Erdogan, the Turkish government has publicly released information that it has suspended over 9,000 Interior Ministry Officials, 1,500 Finance Ministry Officials, thousands of military personnel and other government officials, it has detained over 10,000 civilians.
Bare in mind, many of them are being treated inhumanly and Erdogan has refused to discard the possibility of applying the death penalty on many of them.
The failed coup d'état has brought worldwide attention and now some experts are even questioning the true motives of the event. Experts and political analysts have voiced their opinion on the possibility of Turkey losing its NATO membership which ties them militarily to other 27 countries. NATO requieres them to have stability and follow democratic paths including rule of law on all of Turkey's detainees.
