i keep on reading this news with the first robot that managed to get a citizenship from a state. basically, they designed with artificial intelligence one of this robots that speaks listens, talks and resonates like a human being.
i am amazed by one hand by what the science can do, but on the other hand i find it very creepy and frightening that they are becoming humanoid and they are accepted by us.
in the end, they are an object! that can think of course, because they managed to build the same neuronal synapsis like we have. but it is an object. that said is here to help us.
like come on! we let the robots to mix between us? we call them citizen? i am afraid of the other face of the coin, on the fact that this artificial intelligence has a high chance to be very risky and dangerous. and excuse my paranoia, but i take responsibility for it, but what about all this movies with robots taking over the world?
oh, no. we off course say this is not the case, but we live in ignorance. when julvern wrote 80 days around the world in a balloon, it was called science fiction. when orwell wrote 1984 it was science fiction also. and generally there are so many writers that are visionaries and that they can predict a far far away future, and unfortunately this is one of the SFI scenario where the robots will take over the world and destroy it.
is not only a movie, but if you see how science evolved, is almost reality.
adding to this, the poor ethics that we face. i studied 3 years of moral and political philosophy at university and i remember vaguely all this moral questions that we are dealing today in bioethics or science.
of course we can build and invent and create million of thing, the science has all the tools of power. but is it really moral doing so? of course, we will be called foolish, paranoia people speaking about this, but personally i find it TERRIBLE that a robot got a citizenship from a country. the same robot that wants to get a family and live among us!
come on, let's concentrate more on the problems that we as human have. let's help each other, let's eradicate poverty, let's stop the wars and so on. not to invest millions and billions of dollars on the "progress"
