Life always makes its way
It was discovered that the Great Barrier Reef had already suffered five major fatalities in the past.
To reach this conclusion, fossil reef data were used at 16 sites in Cains and Makaay, cities located on the east coast of Australia.
These data revealed that in the last 30 thousand years, (nothing in geological terms) the reef system is the largest in the world, it has suffered five massive mortality events.
Although it has recovered from all, two of them were caused by a drop in sea level, because the water went to the polar ice caps during the glaciations, two others were due to the sudden increase in sea level that came with the Subsequent melting and a fifth the most recent was caused by a rapid increase in the sedimentation rates that buried the reefs, a reduction in water quality and an increase in sea level and this is what is happening nowadays; so here are two headlines, that history repeats itself and we are already aware of what can happen and that the corals can be recovered, although they take thousands of years.
