MOSCOW, Nov 29 - RIA Novosti. The railway bypassing Ukraine will work in full by the end of the year, said Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov.
"Until the end of this year, this direction will work in full, and we will completely translate the movement of trains in accordance with the regulatory schedule," Sokolov said at the III Railway Congress on Wednesday.
According to the minister, we are talking about 62 pairs of passenger and 30 pairs of freight trains.
A two-track electrified line began to be built on the Zhuravka-Millerovo site after deteriorating relations with Ukraine in 2014. This is the so-called railway bypass of Ukraine. Construction work was completed in August, and the movement was planned to be launched in the fall.
RZhD in September 2017 launched a new roundabout freight trains, in mid-November - passenger, which went without stopping along the old line.
Director of Railways for Passenger Transportation Dmitry Pegov told reporters in late September that the company would launch passenger trains on the railway bypass of Ukraine in two stages.
In particular, on the first there will be switched those trains that did not have intermediate stops on the old line, and then the rest.
