Dhaka: After 27 years, new ship 'Joy of MV Bangla' will be associated with Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) in July. The 39,000 Dead Wet Ton (DWT) bulk carrier has created China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CMC).
It is built at the 'Shipping Joints New York Shipbuilding Company Limited' by the CMC Shipyard in Waikiki, Jiangsu Province. The ship will arrive on July 5.
CMC is constructing 6 vessels for the BSc at the cost of Taka 1,843 crore with financial assistance from the Chinese government. In this, the amount of support of the Chinese government is Tk 1,448 crores and the BSc is giving 395 crores. The 6 ships include 3 oil tankers and 3 bulk carriers. Each capacity has a capacity of 39,000 DWT. Out of the remaining 5 vessels, 4 will be added this year and in the next year the BSC will be added to the fleet.
