Ever been charged for drink-riding?? In the age of the automobile, seeing a horse clopping along a road is becoming rarer each year but not in the lofty city of Logan, just to the south of Brisbane.
A woman has been charged after riding her horse to a bottle shop while she was more than four times the legal alcohol limit. Police were called to a tavern about 11:30pm on Monday over a woman refusing to leave the premises. Before police arrived, the woman had ridden her horse through the 'ride-through' section of the bottle shop trying to score some additional booze. She was so intoxicated that she couldn't communicate with the staff so police were called and she was arrested and taken to the local station where she provided a positive blood alcohol concentration of .226%. More than 4 times over the legal limit!
Officers walked the horse back to the Police Station while the woman was processed. The horse is said to be doing well after being returned to its paddock while the drunk woman had her six shooter and cowboy hat confiscated by police!
It just goes to show that the Wild Wild West is still alive and kicking..... Even in suburbia!
