The ancestral home of legendary singer-actor-director Kishore Kumar located in Khandwa Madhya Pradesh is sold to a builder and this has created buzz over the internet. The news says the home is purchased by a Mumbai based builder for 14-15 crore rupees. This news has created unhappiness among fans of Kishore Kumar as they want the Government to acquire the property and develop it into a heritage site to pay tribute to Kishore Kumar.
This home was built before 100 years by Kishore Kumar's father Kunjilal Ganguly in an area of 7200 sq.ft and recent condition of the home is not good as no one except a caretaker resides there. Kishore Kumar and his brothers Ashok Kumar and Anup Kumar had spent their childhood in this house and Kishore's had a wish to stay in his ancestral home after retirement but due to his untimely death, his wish could not be fulfilled.
Kishore Kumar had a great attachment to his ancestral home and city and as per his wishes, his last rites were carried out in Khandwa in Oct 87.
