I stand with all Americans regardless of anything.
It was a sick and tragic day. I cannot describe how sad I was when I started reading about what had happened. This was one of the very first things I saw on reddit that day, as I normally would open it randomly to see what was going on. The information on donating to blood banks and helping victims was amazing, I was surprised people could be so kind and react so fast.
Something very sick that made the Pulse Nightclub shooting even worse was that reddit admins/mods were censoring posts about it. And by it I mean actual posts and links to Redcross blood donations and relief funds and other news/information...I couldn't believe it... How could any mod/admin censor information on the Redcross??? Now was not the fucking time to play politics and try to not offend someone or whatever the hell they were doing...
I was trying to read and learn about what was happening, and poof, comments and threads started to be deleted. It was on that day a few other subreddits had to rise to the occasion with. The_Donald was getting to the front page of /r/all with info and a few other subreddits that had nothing to do with the news(/r/pics I remember). I did what I could to help break the censorship of /r/all but got some banned from many subreddits on my account at the time.
The censorship was insane.
This is part of the main reason I don't got on reddit almost at all any more. The censorship and Nazi tactics used to squelch free speech are disgusting on reddit. I posted this here instead because I know mods in many subreddits will delete it. I have gay friends and family that I love and I think about them today a lot.
Thanks for taking the time to read through this small tribute/rant. Today lets all be nicer to each other, talk more and yell less :)
