Siege of Aleppo, Humanitarian Corridors
Government forces successfully besieged the rebel militants in the city of Aleppo late July. The Syrian government with assistance from Russia opened several 'humanitarian corridors' out of the city for civilians and militants offering amnesty to members of rebel groups willing to lay down their arms. Thousands of fliers were dropped on the besieged areas depicting the safe passage out.
Rebel Counter-Attack
On July the 29th, rebel/terrorist factions Jaysh al Fateh, Faylaq al-Sham and Ahrar al-Sham counter-attacked government positions from the South-West of the city. Initially government forces held off the counter-attack, however on August the 8th rebel forces managed to break through the Ramouseh district of southwest Aleppo. However no safe large scare supply route has been established yet. Heavy clashes are on going.
