AMAZON PLANS TO RIVAL UPS, FEDEX WITH IN-HOUSE DELIVERY SERVICE
As Amazon pushes to be a complete A to Z behemoth, it seems they are testing they're own in-house delivery service in an effort to create more space in their warehouse and offer more products for 2-Day Prime. Amazon logistics has been handled by 3rd party resources such as UPS & Fedex and other approved couriers but this move goes to show that they want to have more control over the fulfillment side of things.
The service itself however is not new, it started in India and this year Amazon plans to expand into the US with a trial already on-going around the West Coast so if you live in the area you could have experienced it already. As for other states, it looks like it may be coming next year.
