Hate to say I told you so, but now verified morons on Twitter are jumping through mental hoops in order to convince people that the Catalan people were only brainwashed into voting against continuing to throw their hard-earned cash down the Spanish national toilet thanks to a Putin/Assange propaganda duo.
I love how even when an EU nation orders their police to brutally attack their own innocent citizens we still somehow find a way to blame it on a foreign bogeyman pulling the strings. How about Spain and the European Union take some responsibility for their own cruel actions toward a peaceful populace?
Of course, nobody offers any evidence for this Russian illuminati conspiracy other than 'that Assange fella done some Tweeting'. But we're now living in a Neo-Cold War environment where you only need to taint your opponent with the brush of a foreign power in order to completely invalidate their opinions. In these conditions, a democracy will never thrive.
Julian Assange is entitled to his opinion. The State of Russia, likewise, is entitled to their own view.
Can we please focus on the abundantly obvious villains in this play, the fascistic government of Spain who deny millions of people their basic right to self-determination?
