Once the government promised to deliver free education, the #Afrikaansmustfall movement started. This movement led to school property being destroyed and became violent and racist. It ended when students of all color stood together against the movement. For the articles click Here

The government gave the people what they wanted again but failed to deliver on the promise they made to students for free education. This led to another protest, this time more violent than before. Universities had to close down for the safety of the staff leaving students who want to study in distress. For the article click here
Students who wanted to study started a movement and held a silent protest. They endured verbal and physical attacks from other students but they sat down and took it until their silent cries were heard. One student remarked that "Through our silence we were heard"
