Kerry Johnson, a 39-year-old man, decided to leave his corporate job to fully dedicate himself to his family. Although the decision had significant financial implications, it ultimately saved his marriage.
His wife, Sharon, told the New York Post: “I have to say, he’s really good at it, unlike what people usually say about men. He used to be distant because he was always working, but now he’s very attentive.”
Kerry used to work more than 60 hours a week, which led to him growing increasingly distant from his children—who are aged between 5 and 15—and from his wife, with whom he had frequent arguments. He decided to quit his job and focus entirely on the family, helping with housework and assisting the kids with their homework to make up for the lost time.
“I don’t regret my decision. Since I stopped working, I’ve been living much more peacefully. I’m able to take care of my wife and kids, and this way, I can make sure they leave the house in the best possible way,” Kerry explained.
Initially, the couple, who live with their six children in Utah, faced some financial difficulties, as Kerry’s salary was the sole income that supported their comfortable lifestyle.
As a result, Kerry and Sharon decided to open social media accounts to share their daily routine, which provided them with some financial relief.
Sharon concluded, “I know it wasn’t an easy decision for him, but I’m glad he decided to set aside his male pride. This way, we saved our marriage, as we got to know new sides of each other. We’re closer than ever.”
