Sources Within the FBI Tell True Pundit FBI Assistant Director Andrew McCabe has been Demoted Citing Lack of Confidence.
Under director James Comey, McCabe had unilateral control of FBI investigations including counter-terrorism and the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF). McCabe will retain his title as deputy director but the responsibilities associated with the position have effectively been removed.
As the FBI's second in command, Mr. McCabe oversaw high profile cases including the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Mr. McCabe's close association with the Clinton Campaign has been at the center of the controversy, more specifically donations made to his wife's state senate campaign. It was revealed that Dr. Jill McCabe received a $600,000 donation from close Clinton associate, and governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe. The donation was made while Andrew McCabe led the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails.

Current FBI director Christopher Wray assumed the top position at the bureau after James Comey was abruptly fired by President Trump in May of this year, also in relation to the then director's poor handling of the Clinton email investigation.
