A great exchange website that I am using since years that in the last period is giving several issues to many customers.
This post is not intent to say which one of the crypto exchanges is the best one or to put in the shadow Poloniex as to me is always one of the best website.
Clarified this... I will discuss about the issue the majority of us was accusing in the past weeks and someone else as well this week too.
SBD and Steem Deposit and/or Withdrawn was blocked.
So regarding the issue I had few weeks ago... in what way it will create problem to us? Well in several way.
If we are moving SBD or Steem to poloniex is generally with the intent of selling them as we saw the right price to sell them. Having the amount sent to Polo stuck somewhere in between is a nightmare as we don't have anymore them on Steemit either on Poloniex. When we will have those money back??? Easy when the price drop down significantly. This thing stink badly to me.
I.e. I have sent in the past 564 SBD worth more than 1k$ ... the issue was fixed when they worth 500$ so big loss for me.
Now carry on analysing the TERMS AND CONDITIONS that Polo is asking us to read and agree if not we have to contact the support asking to close the account.
Always few weeks ago during the paranormal situation, someone was talking about a hack that Poloniex received during the HF19. I had this thought in my head but nobody confirmed so I ignored it.
Today reading the T&C my attention was attracted by one of the point Poloniex had...
- ATTACKS ON BLOCKCHAIN NETWORKS
Poloniex does not have any ability to prevent or mitigate attacks on blockchain networks. With respect to its platform, Poloniex reserves the right to take the following commercially reasonable actions in the event of an attack: (i) If Poloniex is able to confirm that a Token active on the Platform has been compromised or is under attack, Poloniex may immediately halt trading, deposits, and withdrawals for such Token; (ii) if it is determined that such an attack caused the Token to greatly decrease in value, Poloniex may discontinue trade activity on such Token entirely. Poloniex does not have any obligation to engage in activity in relation to attacks on blockchain networks.
Resolutions concerning deposits, withdrawals, and User balances for an attacked Token will be determined on a case-by-case basis by Poloniex in its sole discretion. Poloniex makes no representation and does not warrant the safety of the Platform and is not liable for any lost value or stolen property, whether or not Poloniex was negligent in providing the proper security.
So considering the part I have highlighted in bold... maybe it was true that they got attacked. I really would like to have a simple answer about it. Your answer will not affect my opinion in you as I will carry on using your services.
What do you think about it???
