The social media giant "Facebook" is entering the processor business and forming a team to design its own chips thereby moving away it's dependence on Intel and Qualcomm.
According to a job listing in Linkedln "Facebook" has posted has posted that it's looking to hire a SoC/ASIC developer.
Google already develops its own AI chips. Apple has been using its own chips in iPhones since 2010 and just recently decided to use in Macs by 2020.

So far nothing has been revealed by Facebook why it wants to design it's own chips, but probably they might use it in their data servers to lower the outsourcing costs which they currently which they are dependent on Intel and Qualcomm.
