I already told about the confidential mode that will restrict recipients from certain emails to to be forwarded, copied, downloaded or printed by the recipients. I would here talk about in in details as well a screenshot which was managed by TechCrunch (link below).
This confidential mode feature actually lets gmail users to set a time frame that will automatically self destruct an email making it unable to download, forward, print or even copy paste those emails.
With the recent ongoing facebook privacy controversy google is looking to revamp users privacy by making emails unreadable after a certain time period, that you don't want it floating around.
In addition google might also add the “Require Passcode” feature which will let users lock certain mails through the google generated password. The passcode will then be required by the recipient to unlock that mail.
As of now google only generates a link to the recipients that redirects it to the “hidden” message.
Google has not yet disclosed whether these features will only work on gmail or also to other non gmail users. The company is planning to release this new design to its users in the coming weeks at the I/O developer conference on May 8th, while the confidential feature can come with same time or be released at a later date.
