Google is redesigning its Gmail version for desktop along with some amazing new features.
The new gmail design haven't been released yet however "theverge" (link below) has managed to get some screenshot of the test version from his sources which Google is currently working on.
The new design is similar to what is seen on the android operating system in the mobile application. Here the are features of the new design:
Quick Reply
As seen on the android version you get a one-click reply suggestions found on the content of an email.

Snooze Button
It temporary blocks out unwanted mails until you want to reply to them.

New Sidebar
This lets you see your Google Calendar, and other Google apps. It's quite useful for those who also wants to actively manage their calendar & schedules at the same time, and keeping track of their notes and reminders.

Three Layouts
By default you can highlight attachments like photos & documents sent along with emails or make the size smaller for comfort. You can increases and decrease the amount of messages seen on a single page.
Confidential Mode
This feature lets users to restrict certain emails to be forwarded, copied, downloaded or printed by the recipients.
Google is planning to release this new design to its users in the coming weeks at the I/O developer conference on May 8th.
