Give me a new morning,
on which to arise . . .
were to God’s mercies
I’ll again be apprised.
Let me see hope’s beams,
shedding on me His light
to remind me He kept me
safe through the night.
Give me a new dawn,
in which to awaken . . .
so all of God’s compassion
I can soak and take in.
Let me feel the coolness,
of the morning’s early dew
so I may again be aware
all things He makes new.
Give me a new morning,
where for His peace I await
as my soul to His glory . . .
begins to quietly awake
