Benyamin Ahmed is 12 years old and from London and makes “Weird” NFT’s!
Ahmed’s Weird Whales include 3,400 pixelated animations of whales. All have unique traits, like hats, cigarettes, pipes and colorful backgrounds. He learned how to make and sell NFTS from watching videos and being apart of discord communities who helped along with the process. It cost Ahmed about $300 to make the collection, he said, mostly due to gas fees, which are charged to blockchain to verify NFTs. His collection launched in July 2021 and entirely sold out within nine hours, making over 80 ether in a single day which is worth over $250,000.
What I think we can learn from Ahmed and his weird whales is what direction the NFT space is at currently in and it’s definitely a “weird” category right now. So don’t be afraid to do or make something weird when it comes to NFT’s maybe the weirder and more out the norm it is, the higher chance of success you will have because that’s the demand in the market at the moment, so get weird and stick out to your competitors when making your NFTs!
