THE NATION ANTHEM
Arise, o compatriots, Nigeria call obey. To serve our fatherland with love and strength and faith. The labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain. To serve with heart and might. One nation bound in freedom,peace and unity.
Oh God of creation,direct our noble cause. Guide our leaders right. Help our youth and truth to know in love and honesty to grow. And living just and true. Great lofty heights attain. To build a nation where peace and justices shall reign.
THE NATIONAL PLEDGE
I pledge to Nigeria my country. To be faithful, loyal and honest. To serve Nigeria with all my strength. To defend her unity And uphold her honor and glory so help me God.
The first anthem was adopted in 1978 and replace the previous anthem "Nigeria we Hail Thee". The lyric are the combination of words and phrase taken from five of the best entries in the national contest. The words were put to music by the Nigeria polic Band under the directorship of Benedict Odiase.
Without beating around the bush and going to the main reason of bring such a post is to:
1.Educate because some people may not be aware of the writer of the Nigeria national anthem, and the are the song we do recite every day in our individual schools either it private or public school. I do remember back then on the assembly ground we do mis pronounce and murder most of this words and when fully grown up the attention to the wordings of this song was not given. I write to you all with a heavy heart of mix feeling,because were are we actually heading to and is the future of this nation bright.
- Re-think so many area our the country needs heal. Right from the top to the grass root. High crime,corruption every where even in the door post of institution who are suppose to be the one teaching against it,poor standard of living ,robbery ,cultism not only in tertiary institution but exist in primary school,sex abuse,child trafficing, prostitution, money embezzument etc. All this and many more are what we face as a country workers recieving 18 thousand as a minimum wage , in some states unstale salary and debt while you see our oga at the top even at recieving huge amount as salary with allowance with regular income but still steal the country money, where are we heading to in this country. We are celebrating @57 what are our achieveent as a country and if there a bright future. People grajuate each day know job which leads to many engaging in some ungodly activities. Just have to stop here, to avoid some other things, or i will just keep on writing with know end. It is time for our religion leader to come together and have some things done, the family also as an agent of socialization have a role to play in the the life of young coming generation.
