The end definitely will be disastrous, and the military personnel who dance this dangerous dance will be made to take the whole blame for the accumulated losses, irredeemable lost lives, and millions of Naira worth of properties.
What is a python snake and how does it operate? (quoting http://www.wisegeek.com)
The reticulated python snake, known scientifically as the Python reticulatus, is a snake that is native to southeast Asia in tropical areas. Their normal home environments are hot, tropical rainforests near the equator. Also, they are normally found near water and are very skilled at swimming. In fact, they have populated a number of islands in their range, reaching them, ostensibly, by their swimming ability.
The python is a larger snake, typically growing up to 25 feet (7.62 meters) or even larger. They rarely get longer than 30 feet (9.14 m), however, although some legends have them getting as long as 50 feet (15.24 m).
The python snake is identified in a number of different ways. It has a series of complex patterns on its skin, often taking the form of irregular diamonds in a number of different colors. The outline of the diamonds on a python are usually darker in color--mainly black--whereas the interior of the diamond shape is much lighter in color. Albino pythons are mainly white, with perhaps a yellowish outline of the diamond shapes.
The python is solely a meat eater. Unlike some carnivorous snakes, however, it has no venom. Rather, as a member of the boa family, it is a constrictor, waiting to ambush its prey and then squeezing the life out of it. The ambush can either come from above, with the snake dropping from a tree, or ground level, with the snake hiding on the ground.
The python snake is one of the most common types of snakes kept as pets. Care should be taken to learn as much as possible about the history of any animal being considered as a pet. Wild animals caught and kept in captivity will not be as socialized as those who are born in captivity. Therefore, those wishing to keep a python as a pet should try to make sure it was one born in captivity, because it is dangerous.
What more can we say about this snake other than saying in clear terms that it is very dangerous? Let’s talk more of adopting its name as the choice for our supposedly respected military's operation on defenseless citizens.
On our side of the world, the military seems to have lost (completely) their sense of duty, hence taking up duties I classify as”junks.” Uproars within any country are inevitable and seldom surfaces. Uproars are instigated for various reasons ranging from unjust treatments from certain parts of the government, unjust treatments from the entire government system, to other seemingly immaterial reasons. When uproars spring up like this and escalate to the point of involving the military, it is done with respect for the lives of the citizens involved.
How then do the military forces comport themselves? case study: Liberty Order for All U.S. Military Forces Located or Operating in Japan
1. United States military forces continue to play a critical role in shaping the reputation and image of the United States throughout the world. This is particularly true in Japan. Acts of indiscipline or criminal behavior by U.S. military personnel adversely impact international relations, tarnish the image of the United States military, and affect our military readiness. Service members must conduct themselves at all times in a professional manner and in strict accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, as well as Department of Defense and Service policies, regulations, and directives. It is equally incumbent upon Commanders to ensure that proper procedures are in place to ensure full compliance with this order.
2. Exhibit exemplary and attentive behavior. Every service member, regardless of rank, represents his or her unit, Service, and our nation. Appropriate personal conduct and keen situational responsiveness are integral facets of our role as ambassadors of United State.
A country's military portrays the image of the country well, and makes the citizens proud of lifting the flag high wherever they go and sing the country's anthem with pride. This is what the USA’s military forces do wherever they go, and this singular thought makes them comport themselves in orderly manners even when not on assignments. Why then is the case of our country's military forces different? Why will our military forces kill innocent and defenseless citizens in cold blood in their Python 2 Dance? Have the Python 2 “Dancers” forgotten history in a flash? (Or do they want the repetition of history for which I do not pray.) Have the military forgotten they aren't supposed to attack defenseless and peaceful agitators? Have the military forces suddenly forgotten it is not a crime to agitate for self governance and freedom?
List of names of military operations, their activity, and their significance, quoting http://listverse.com
Operation Magic Carpet:In June 1945, the United States of America launched Operation Magic Carpet to return over eight million Americans back to their homeland, and out of Pacific and European theaters that saw war. The name of the operation is rather simplistic, but it speaks volumes about the glory of leaving a devastated region of the world for your homeland, and how peaceful the idea can be. The men were being transported on a “magic carpet” back to their safe-haven of America, and this is truly an interesting operation name. A European variation of Operation Magic Carpet was launched in 1946 to rescue European soldiers in foreign lands.
Operation Desert Storm:Taking place in 1991, Operation Desert Storm was the operative name for the Persian Gulf War. While the name may not be the most interesting of them all, it is quite intriguing. The title shows what the United States planned on doing in Iraq: unleashing a desert storm. Bombs, ammunition, and artillery would be deployed, and the sand in the deserts would create a massive storm as a result.
Operation Bayonet Lightning:Lasting for only sixteen hours in December 2003, this operation was performed to seize any weapons or materials in certain villages in Iraq that could pose a threat to coalition forces during the War on Terrorism. This is one of those military operations that has quite an interesting title. Overall, this is one of the better operation names, and also one of the most recent. Kudos for a great choice of words.
Operation Valiant Guardian:This may seem a little ridiculous, but this is yet again, another operation pulled from a conflict involving the United States, coalition forces, and Iraq. This operation was launched to uncover insurgents and weaponry to ensure the safety of soldiers fighting in Iraq.
Operation Urgent Fury:In 1983, the United States, supported by other Caribbean island nations, invaded the island of Grenada because of a military coup that had occurred in the country. Plain and simple, fast and furious aggression was needed to subdue the revolution in Grenada, and that is exactly what the military forces did.
Operation Eagle Claw:Operation Eagle Claw was performed to try and rescue the Americans that were being held amidst the Iran Hostage Crisis. Eight helicopters were sent out, and none of them returned. One crashed into the helicopter carrying fuel and supplies for the other six, and once that was downed, the remaining ones were left helpless in the air. Sure, Operation Eagle Claw was a failure. However, its title is one of the greatest of all time. The Americans, whose symbol is the eagle, were going to use their “claw” (helicopters) to rescue the innocent hostages.
Operation Crescent Wind:What better way to follow-up a miserable failure, than with a success. In October and November of 2001, almost immediately after the terrorist attacks on 9/11, British and American air forces led strikes in Afghanistan attempting to weaken the Taliban. This led the way for further ground campaigns that continually weakened the government and Taliban as well.
Operation Spartan Scorpion:Operation Spartan Scorpion was launched in June 2003 to help clear the Iraqi countryside of remaining non-compliant forces and paramilitary groups that wanted to harm coalition forces. This title is a dynamic duo of harrowing power. A Spartan, in itself, is a terrifying creature. These ancient Greek soldiers were well-known for their propensity for fighting to the death, and a scorpion is an animal that can kill various other creatures in numerous ways.
Operation Overlord:June 6, 1944: the largest amphibious invasion of all time. 160,000 troops crossing the English Channel to try and take back German-occupied western Europe for the Allies. Most people know this event as D-Day, or the Battle of Normandy. The official title for this invasion was Operation Overlord.
Operation Rolling Thunder:Lasting from March 1965 until November 1968, Operation Rolling Thunder was a lengthy, aerial bombardment performed by the United States on North Vietnam. Sure, it was much like “Operation Eagle Claw,” in the aspect that it was a colossal failure, but unlike the aforementioned plan, its title was much more indicative of its murderous intentions. Essentially, Operation Rolling Thunder was initiated to emaciate the Northern Vietnamese land, and to try and force the Viet Cong out of their holes and hills that helped them elude being caught.
Truth be told, the above listed operations were not meted on fellow US citizens, but outsiders. Secondly, the above listed operations were named with in-depth reasons and a high sense of understanding of human rights and lives even outside the borders of USA.
The Nigerian military operation coded Python 2, is not only barbaric but insane as it targets not non-Nigerians, but her defenseless and innocent agitating citizens to kill and destroy their land (what a shame on the military).
Nigerian military forces need to retrace their steps, carry out their operations in line with world standards and learn never to take detrimental commands from civilians to do the citizenry harm. As the saying in Nigeria goes:
A husband who is husband indeed, wouldn't lay hands on the wife.#ILoveNigeria and #IpledgetoNigeriamycountry
