Today the sights and sound of terror and horror has become an integral part of everyday news. We hear of terror attacks here and there, bomb blasts, destruction of lives and properties.
As man develops and civilization grows, it seems man is become more base, barbaric and Savage than what we used to be in the stone age. We no longer see live as sacrosanct, rather we now see human lives as something that is expendable and can be wasted just to prove a point or get attention.
Not too long ago, lives were lost in the September 11 attacks, thousands died and millions were bereaved, some families are still grieving that act of inhumanity by humans, for some the scars would never heal, some families were completely wiped out.
The news of the mayhem and terror unleashed by ISIS, makes one to breakdown in tears and wonder if these men are really humans or beasts taking the lives of fellow humans at will.
Sovereign nations are equipping and upgrading their nuclear arsenals; to what end, to show superiority over each other. We forget that as we try to prove our superiority millions of lives would be lost.
In the execution of wars we start for our own pride and fame, millions of lives are lost while we hide behind our castle walls.
The Las Vegas massacre is another ugly example of man's inhumanity against his fellow man.
How did we degenerate into such cold blooded beasts and savages. We are humans yet we are full of inhumanity.
Michael Bassey Johnson once said:
"Wild animals are less wild and more human than many humans of this world"
We as humans should learn to love each other, we must learn that our selfish desires, our quest for power, affluence and recognition, is not worth the lives of our fellow humans. Let us always remember that live is sacrosanct.
Let us show a little kindness, a little love and the world would be a better place.
To all those who lost their loved ones or were injured during the Las Vegas massacre, even to all the lost souls, our prayers are with you.
